Some Final Images from Savannah

Five years is usually considered to be a long time, but that's not necessarily the case in Savannah. We returned to find the city largely as we had left it. Sure, there were some new restaurants, and a few additional museums to check out ... whether they were new or had re-opened after renovation. But Savannah itself hadn't changed at all. And we like it that way. Here are some final images from our return to this beautiful and utterly unique southern city.

Happy 2011 in Savannah

As 2011 rolled in, we had some things to celebrate... mainly, the fact that we still had another month in Savannah! We'd been having a great time, and were in no hurry to leave. Our New Year's celebrations had been just like Savannah itself: weird, hilarious, a little disturbing, and unforgettable. And as we stumbled home after a wild party, the city showed us a new trick: a dense fog had settled in on the streets. Oh Savannah, stop being so gorgeous!

Scenes from Savannah City Streets

Photographers visiting Savannah are going to have a hard time holding to any sort of schedule... and their partners will have a hard time holding onto their sanity. During our stay in Savannah, it happened often that I lost my patience, and finally ditched Jürgen, who was again snapping photos of a random saxophone, or ivy, or a dog, or another Victorian house. "Have fun, and take your time! I'll be at the bar." I think it saved our relationship.
